The United States encultures its peoples from birth that it is "land of the free". This message is saturated in media, education, sports, politics, conversation, and everything else. It is assumed to be self-evident, so it is never questioned. In fact, it is practically heretical to question such a sacred concept.

The United States does not value freedom. The United States is an authoritative culture domestically and internationally.

Consider parenting styles:

We raise our children to be obedient, rather than respect their needs and feelings.

We teach our students to be obedient to schedules, teachers' orders, and assignments, rather than encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, problem solving, and real world skills.

We work in environments that pay is the least amount they can negotiate in an increasingly exploitative environment, while extracting more from us.

Governments tax the middle class more than the rich and corporations and spend half the budget on an imperialistic military that benefits these corporations, while not providing basic human necessities such as universal healthcare, housing and food for the poor, national pension, and so forth.

We worship ideas such as capitalism, guns, and old books. Recently, some have worshipped a political leader.

The United States is an authoritarian nation. It is ruled by the oligarchs who own corporations that control the government and media that persuade how you think.
