If the perceived universe is a holographic representation of the mind, then it is probably like an infinite (or near infinite) number of 3D still images, or 4D projection reels.
Someone or some people in the 5th dimension with the capability and motive could then move the observer (me) from one 4D reel to another.
They could do this without anyone else knowing if power was first cut, as it was. Cutting and splicing previously "reels" of lived experience, from the observer's point of view, would allow them to then try to cover up crimes committed while power was out. It is an especially deceptive and manipulative tactic, but there is evidence written on the bones by those left behind, like scrawlings on walls of concentration camps.
